Earth Aid Launches Fall 2009 University Organizing Fellowship

By Cole Ingraham 10 months ago

Earth Aid is excited to announce that this week we selected our inaugural class of Earth Aid University Organizing Fellows.  These Fellows represent universities and cities from all over the United States, creating a nationwide network of individuals dedicated to raising people’s awareness about their energy usage and ways they can reduce their carbon footprint.

This program not only helps Fellows reach beyond their college campuses and become more involved in their communities by recruiting individuals to join Earth Aid as well as environmentally-minded local businesses to join the Rewards Network, but they will also develop community outreach and organizing skills that will serve them well long after their service this fall.

Earth Aid is giving our University Organizing Fellows all the tools they need to succeed in building a green network of environmentally conscious households being rewarded by local businesses.  We are providing Fellows with training on community organizing and ways to share their successes and strategies with one other.

Even though we're just getting started with the program, we at Earth Aid can't wait to see what kind of results our Fellows have on reducing their communities' carbon footprint.  If you want to get involved, check out a complete listing below of all the schools and communities where our Fellows are active.  You can also send an email to our National Field Director Andrew Gall at andrew@earthaid.net to find out about getting involved this fall or being a Fellow this coming spring.
