Find Out if the Utility Bill Really is Greener On the Other Side of the Neighborhood

By Ben Bixby about 1 year ago

If you joined EarthAid.net very early on in our public beta, you've already seen quite a few exciting new developments and upgrades to the site, service, and experience. We've added to our databases nearly a thousand new local incentive programs for saving energy and water - you'll see the ones that are available to you automatically selected every time you sign-in! Employing Earth Aid's patent-pending technology, we've also added compatibility with several dozen more utilities since we initially debuted - that's by far the most of any service anywhere.

We're humble by habit, so we don't like to brag every time we add to or improve Earth Aid. Today, however, we thought it was worth writing this short note about our new comparison and visualization tools - both to invite you to start to use them, and to get you excited about what's coming soon!

Starting today, you can compare your electric, gas, and water consumption levels with your friends - directly in your Earth Aid Dashboard. Since Earth Aid is the only service to work exclusively with automatically retrieved, third-party verified data, you'll know if the utility bills really are greener on your side of the fence. You can use Earth Aid's handy contact importer to invite your friends and neighbors to add their homes to Earth Aid - and to stack their energy and water use levels up against yours! We've made this possible not just to power friendly competitions (that's between you and your friends!), but also to start up conversations about how neighborhoods can work together to make improvements together

Your Dashboard now also features several new views, including a few line and bar graphs. Like the capability to compare your usage with your friends, what you see now is just a small downpayment on some of the exciting new features we have in the pipeline. Stay tuned for more announcements from us soon, and drop us a line privately or publicly as a comment on this post to let us know what you'd like to see us create for you!
