We are looking for a mid to senior-level engineer interested in an opportunity to join a rapidly growing start-up company with a clear direction and proven potential. Earth Aid Enterprises is a quickly growing green-tech start-up dedicated to helping Americans become more energy efficient in their homes. In April Earth Aid Enterprises launched EarthAid.net, a unique online platform that helps individuals track and reduce their energy usage and earn rewards for their energy savings.
What we're after...
Earth Aid Enterprises is seeking an experienced (mid to senior) Ruby/Ruby on Rails developer to assist with development of our site. The developer will take the helm of our most critical component and will devote his or her time to fixing bugs as they are uncovered and expanding compatibility. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in the quickly growing green energy field and to work with Ruby on Rails in a small, friendly, forward-thinking team environment.

Requirements:
- Proven experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails, code samples are encouraged
- Local to Washington, DC (or within a reasonable commute)
- Thorough knowledge of web design standards and best practices
- Ability to be efficient and productive under pressure
- Very organized with strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with database normalization rules
- You are not afraid to dive into an existing codebase
- You like actually designing software, and thinking through how it fits into larger efforts *before* you start to code
Bonus:
- You have design experience, anything from CSS styling to graphics
- You have experience screen scraping, specifically using Mechanize or Celerity
- You are a Red Sox or Chicago Cubs fan
- You can manage yourself and meet or exceed deadlines
- You enjoy working on something that matters. Our work should become something you're passionate about.
- You are familiar with and interested in the open source community.
